Connecting the State - Pre-registration Connecting the State is the annual conference of Digital Iceland on the digital future of the public sector, which will take place this year at Hilton Reykjavík Nordica on 26 September 2024.
The conference is titled Change Management, focusing on implementing digital services and processes in public sector organisations. The conference's keynote speakers are Dave Rogers and Liz Whitfield, who have participated and made progress in a wide range of major digital transformation projects in the UK administration.

Five agencies will share their stories about their digital journeys and Digital Iceland will present the innovations that lie ahead. The day will end with the Digital Steps for Institutions awards, where the institutions that have made good progress in digital implementation are recognised.
On the morning of the conference, four workshops will be held on service, technology & development, Ísland.is and the benefits of digital projects. The goal of the workshops is to make a meaningful contribution to the digital development that lies ahead for the next few years. Participants in the workshops will be CEOs, COOs, CTOs, and service managers from within the government. The workshops will be invite only but you can request entry and information about the workshops by emailing to island@island.is with the subject Connecting the State Workshops.
Data Space - briefing
A meeting on Data Spaces will take place on the 2nd of September 2024 at Hannesarholt. The meeting aims to introduce the concept of Data Spaces, and current data space solutions and discuss the opportunities that Data Spaces offer.
Welcome Debtors Ombudsman
Welcome the Debtors’ Ombudsman to the Icelandic community, whose knowledge as well as a maintenance calculator greatly strengthens the service of Ísland.is.
New Public Service
Digital Iceland has recently concluded an agreement on a joint service system between Ísland.is and the main services agencies. The agreement were awarded after a prior call for tenders.
Defend Iceland and Digital Iceland
Digital Iceland and Defend Iceland have signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of cyber security. The purpose of the agreement is to use Defend Iceland’s wild-fish portal to detect security vulnerabilities in Digital Iceland’s systems and thereby increase and strengthen the defense against cyber attacks.

Digital Iceland and cloud hosting
Director of Digital Iceland Birna Íris spoke at the conference on cloud solutions. Birna Íris shared how Digital Iceland has used cloud solutions and reviewed the main projects that are ahead this winter.
New services on Ísland.is:
District Commissioners have made licenses available on My pages on Ísland.is.
The Icelandic Transport Authority has now taught the chat bot Askur everything about flights, shipping, and traffic.
Graduation data from Bifröst, the Iceland Academy of the Arts, the Agricultural University of Iceland, Hólar, the University of Akureyri, and the University of Iceland can now be found on My pages on Ísland.is.
District Commissioners have access to the website service Ísland.is through the Straumur service, which provides information on the e-mail address and phone number from the user's saved settings on Ísland.is. This helps to get the latest registrations and if a user is a party to a case, they need to report updates on cases.
Inna has introduced a new login service on Ísland.is.
The Social Insurance Administration now publishes payment plans on My pages on Ísland.is
