Further information on lumpfish fishing

Due to an inquiry from Landsambandi Smábátaeigenda to the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, it is worth stressing that from 1st to 20th of March each landing counts as one fishing day, regardless of how much time passes between landings.

During the season, a boat can request to take a break until 20th of March 20, and the boat operator decides when the boat will start fishing again.

The last day to request a break is 20th of March, and the request must be submitted by email to grasleppa@fiskistofa.is.

On 21st of March, consecutive fishing days begin counting, minus the days that have already been used, except for those boats that have requested a break, for which days start counting when the boat resumes fishing again.
