19th June 2024
Congratulations on the day, ladies!
Today, June 19 2024 is a significant day in the history of the women's rights in Iceland.
This year marks the 109th anniversary of women aged 40 and over being granted the right to vote in the Althingi parliament. Women first celebrated the Women’s Rights Day on 19 June 1915, when a year had passed since King Kristján X. signed the law amending the constitution. The law did not take effect until 19 January 1916.
CONGRATULATIONS ALL WOMEN!
