Coastal fishing suspended as of 12 July 2023
The last day of coastal fishing is today and the fishing will be suspended as of Wednesday 12 July 2023.
All coastal fishing licences shall expire when coastal fishing is suspended on Wednesday 12 July 2023. A vessel holding a coastal fishing licence may therefore proceed to fishing tomorrow on the condition that it had a fishing licence before it received the coastal fishing licence.
A coastal fishing licence does not include a general fishing licence, so if vessel was in the zero category before it was granted a coastal fishing licence, a general fishing licence must be applied for before going fishing.
It is possible to view whether a vessel has a fishing permit on the Fisheries Office website under search of ships, but the coastal fishing licence might still appear few days after the licence has been annulled.
