Catch Quota Allocation for the Fishing Year 2024/2025

The Directorate of Fisheries has allocated catch quota to vessels for the fishing year 2024/2025.

A catch quota was allocated to 344 vessels owned by 274. The total allocation of catch quota is almost 320 thousand cod value tons. Of that, the cod is slightly over 168 thousand tons, compared to 166 thousand tons last year. Allocation of haddock is slightly over 38 thousand cod value tons and decreases by 16 thousand cod value tons from last year. The decrease in haddock can be attributed to the fact that the cod value index for haddock fell from 0.93 to 0.64.

  • Samherji Ísland hf. 8,72%

  • Ísfélag hf. 6,98%

  • Fisk Seafood ehf. 6,10%

  • Þorbjörn hf. 5,43%

  • Sólberg ÓF 1 (2917), Ísfélag hf. 10.305 tons

  • Guðmundur í Nesi RE 13 (2626), Útgerðarfélag Reykjavíkur hf. 10.006 tons

  • Drangey SK 2 (2893), FISK-Seafood ehf. 6.786 tons

The 5.3% catch quota deducted from the total allowable catch is divided as follows. :

  • Shell and shrimp compensation 1.993 tons

  • Regional quota for fishing vessels 5.645 tons

  • Regional Development Institute quota is 6.302 tons

  • Recreational fishing 200 tons

  • Coastal fishing 11.100 tons

  • Long-line discount 1,835 tons

  • Recruitment in lump fishing 65 tons.
