For Grindavik: Damage and insurance
What about other items I have built on the grounds of my house, e.g. a platform and a hot pot, will I get compensated for that?
NTÍ only pays compensation for the shares that are insured under the law that applies to NTÍ.
According to law, NTÍ covers the damage that has been done to buildings by natural disasters. The buildings and property, which are fire-insured by the general companies, are also insured against natural disasters.
NTÍ does not comment on removal of valuables from the land of their houses by homeowners, but it is appropriate that such actions are in consultation with the building authorities and, where appropriate, the government, if the owner intends to use the solutions that will be available regarding the buildings.
