First Board of a Foundation

The board of a fund or foundation must notify the fund register of the District Commissioner of the current board members.

The board must always be appointed or nominated in accordance with the provisions of the current charter. Identification numbers and email addresses of the board members must be provided.

All board members must sign the notification. If the majority of the board members are new, the outgoing board members must also sign the notification.

The original document should be sent to the District Commissioner of the Westfjords, main office, Aðalstræti 92, 450 Patreksfjörður, along with a copy of the relevant minutes. It is also permissible to send a scanned original electronically to the email address sjodir@syslumenn.is along with a copy of the minutes.

The District Commissioner will register the new board of the fund or foundation in the fund register. If the registration of the new board is rejected or if the District Commissioner raises objections to the submitted notification, the board will be given the opportunity to rectify the deficiencies.
