Course for structure design engineers

First you need to apply for a course in the certification of structure design engineers on HMS My pages. The course is held by Iðan Educational Centre, usually in both spring and autumn. Registration opens a month before the course begins (until then the application is not visible on HMS My pages). Here you can see the next available courses at the Iðan Educational Centre website.

Supporting documents

• Copy of diploma.

• Confirmation from Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation on the right to a professional title.

Iðan Educational Centre will contact you on the exact course date and bill you through your internet bank.

When the course is completed, HMS will receive your exam results and issue a diploma which you will then receive by mail.

Application for certification

Once you have passed the course, you can apply for the certification itself. You can do that on HMS My pages.

When the application has been submitted you will receive confirmation of receipt by email. If any information is missing HMS will contact you by email.

When the application has been approved you will receive an email stating that a claim has been sent to your internet bank. Once you have paid the fee, the certification document will be mailed to you and your name will appear on the list of certified master craftsmen.

Fee

Fee for certification of a structure design engineer is 12.000 ISK.
