Process certificates
A processing certificate (so called Annex IV form) is necessary when exporting seafood processed in Iceland from foreign catches to Europe.
This certificate confirms that the licensee who processed the catch has a valid processing permit from MAST the Icelandic Food and Veterinary Authority. At the same time the certificate confirms that the product exported is derived from catch that was accompanied by a catch certificate from the vessel’s flag state when imported to Iceland.
Importers of foreign catches who wish to export their derived products to the EU market must therefore ensure that a valid catch certificate from the fishing vessel’s flag state accompanies the imported catch.
Obtaining a processing certificate:
Complete a processing certificate form in accordance with the data of the catch certificate that accompanied the catch on import.
These documents, processing certificate and catch certificate are sent to vottord@fiskistofa.is.
The Directorate of Fisheries will certify the processing certificate and send back by email if info is correct.
The certificate costs 8.600 ISK
