Nordic Archives Days 2025 – Registration is open

Registration for the Nordic Archives Days 2025 conference, which will take place in Oslo, Norway, 16-17 September, is now open. Registration is open to the general public and will continue until the conference sells out. Early bird discount is available until 17 March.


The conference is one of the main venues for Nordic archives and Nordic national archives co-operation. The conference is a long-standing tradition and has been held every three years since 1935. The conference is held 27 times. The conference is titled The role of archives in society and the seminars are divided into three themes: Practical technological innovation, Security of archives in times of uncertainty and The potential of archives. The conference is being held in English for the first time.
Among the keynote speakers will be Professor Guðni Th. Jóhannesson of the University of Iceland and former President of Iceland. In his talk, he discusses the importance of archives in the modern world: “Keeping truth in a post-truth world. The importance of accessible archives for individuals and societies”.
