Patient insurance - advertisement for interested specialist doctors
9th October 2024
Iceland Health requests discussions with interested specialist physicians who wish to take advice in contracting with the institution's professional team on applications for compensation payments for incidents in healthcare (patient insurance).
The project involves reviewing medical data for individuals' applications and being a professional team of the Iceland Health for advising on the right to compensation under the Patient Insurance Act. The main conditions for the right to compensation are that the injury can be attributed to the fact that the medical treatment was not handled as well as possible or that a person suffered a serious and rare complication of treatment. This is not a traditional assessment work but rather a review of data from applicants and therapists and conclusions from that review.
Medical professionals with some experience but who are still in clinical work are requested. It is also possible to enter into contracts with specialists who have recently ceased clinical work. Cooperation with physicians who work in Iceland or abroad is requested. The scope of work is according to a closer agreement and offers flexibility.
Interested parties should send a short summary of their careers, together with a professional qualification, if not available from Iceland Health, to the e-mail address innkaup@sjukra.is before 1 November 2024. Iceland Health reserves the right to choose from the group of interested parties as necessary.
