Catch Quota Exchange market - call for tenders

Pursuant to Article 4 of Regulation no. 849/2023 on commercial fishing for the fishing year 2023/2024 fish, the Directorate of Fisheries calls for tenders for exchange of catch quotas.

Allocation of mackerel from additional fishing allowance

The Directorate of Fisheries has processed applications for Class A vessels in accordance with Regulation 725/2020 on the allocation of 4,000 tonnes of additional fishing allowances for mackerel.

A temporary ban on bottom trawling fishing in Barðið by Halinn came into force at 22:00 on 4th of September and will expires on the 26th of July 2022.

Operations of the Directorate of Fisheries in connection with holes in the sea cage of the Arctic Seafarm in Patreksfjörður

The Directorate of Fisheries flew over rivers Westfjords with drones. Including all rivers in Arnarfjörður, and Húnaflói. In those rivers, large quantities of fish have not been seen that would warrant action.
