Procedure for applying emergency measures
The principle of the Child Protection Act is that procedures should be established before using coercive measures, providing guidance to the parties, presenting them with documents and giving them the opportunity to express themselves. If it is clear that the child is at risk by taking this route, it is possible to take immediate measures, see Article 31 of the Child Protection Act.
The measures considered here are mainly those that relate to the removal of a child from a home, or measures to prevent his or her transfer to another location. However, all measures by the child protection services that would otherwise need to be ruled on, such as stopping a child’s movement out of the country, or stopping contact with a child in foster care, may be included as well.
