Great satisfaction with Ísland.is
The digital journey and development of digital solutions align with the will and expectations of Icelanders in a recent survey.
When developing new products and services, it is important to monitor the user experience. Digital Iceland has the past two years been working towards improving information and digital public services. Various ways are used to follow up on if users experience actual improvements.
Recently, Gallup conducted an online survey, where the usage and attitude towards Íslands.is, Digital Mailbox and May pages on Íslands.is were put to the test.
Overall, knowledge, usage, and satisfaction measure very high in all groups, regardless of age, residence, education, or income. The answers indicate that the digital journey of government is on the right path and in line with the will and expectations of the Icelandic people.
Almost 38% of Icelanders use Ísland.is regularly, plus over 48% have used it, and only 6% have never heard of it. The lowest knowledge and usage of Ísland.is is among 65 years and older, although 72% of respondents have used the website. In other age groups, usage was between 87%-94%. People outside the capital used the website the most, about 89%, and the least usage was measured in Reykjavík, about 84%.
The same pattern was seen on Ísland.is My pages, where 86% of respondents had used them.
The digital mailbox scored lowest in terms of knowledge and usage, with 54% of respondents having used it. The digital mailbox has been used by 65 years and older by 30%, the most frequently used by 35-44 years or 75%.
Overall, there was not a great difference between the usage and knowledge of Ísland.is among women and men, although women scored higher.
Satisfaction with Ísland.is is very high, with 75% of respondents satisfied with the website, 68% satisfied with My pages, and 69% with the Digital mailbox. Less than 2% of participants were dissatisfied with the website Ísland.is, My pages and the Digital mailbox.
Users' knowledge, usage, and satisfaction will continue to be monitored, and the results will be used in prioritizing digital projects.
The survey was conducted by Gallup from the 6th – the 18th of October 2022 for Digital Iceland. The online survey was sent to 1697 people from all around Iceland, aged 18 and older, randomly selected from the Gallup Opinion group
