Music
There are numerous concerts held in Iceland every year. Opera and dance productions are also put on. You'll find more information on concerts and other productions here.
Music and concerts
Iceland supports a diverse music culture. There are concerts by solo musicians, choirs, singing groups, chamber orchestras, brass bands, symphony orchestras, marching bands, jazz bands, pop-music bands, rock bands and concerts organised by music schools.
When orchestras and other music groups offer seasonal programmes over the course of the year, the public can often purchase season tickets, as well as discount tickets for various ages and groups, and other kinds of discounts. More information can be found on the websites for the various music groups.
Opera and dance
The Icelandic Opera has been operating since 1978, and has put on a number of opera productions during that time, by both Icelandic composers and foreign composers.
Senior citizens, the disabled, artists with member cards, more advanced music students and groups are eligible for discounts on opera productions. More information is available on the Icelandic Opera's website.
The Icelandic Dance Company is a contemporary dance company that puts on several productions a year. Ticket prices vary, but various types of special offer are available. More information is available on the dance company's web site.
