If you have a work machine license issued by another member state of the EEA, you can have your rights recognized by the Administration of Occupational Safety and Health in Iceland.
This is in accordance with the Act on the Recognition of Professional Education and Qualification for Work in Iceland.
Process
A form is filled out on My pages. Employers can apply for an assessment of foreign rights for their employees.
Documents needed
Copy of driver's license.
Copy of foreign work machine license.
Data showing the number of hours in theoretical and practical teaching for the foreign rights.
When applying for a crane license, for categories A, B, C, D and P, a medical certificate must be attached.
Data may be in Icelandic, English, Danish, Norwegian or Swedish. Data in other languages must be translated into Icelandic or English.
