Municipalities provide financial assistance on a temporary basis to help people fend for themselves.
During the application process, information is requested, for example about residence and income for the last 2 months. You will then receive an email when the application has been reviewed or if any data is missing.
Most Icelandic municipalities use the process mentioned above to process financial assistance applications. If your home town is not one of them, during the process you will be given instructions on where to look for the same services from your local authority.
