Annual accounts of cemeteries

The Icelandic National Audit Office supervises the annual accounts of cemeteries. Cemeteries must send the Institute annual accounts for the preceding year, June 1st each year. The Icelandic National Audit Office may also request information and documents underlying the accounts for further scrutiny.

The Icelandic National Audit Office maintains a central register of all cemeteries that are to submit annual accounts and records operational and economic data from them. Each year, the Icelandic National Audit Office publishes a summary of annual cemetery accounts for the preceding year.
