The access of physicians
The Prescription Medicines Database is a secure electronic access where physicians can prescribe medicines electronically, monitor their patients' prescription medicine histories, and monitor which drugs are released in the portal. Medication information can be accessed over seven years at a time. All physicians can access the Prescription Medicines Database, either directly from electronic medical records or by logging on to a specific page with electronic identification.
In the Prescription Medicines Database, physicians can:
See electronic, paper, and telephone prescriptions for their patients.
View all dispensing of medicinal products by their patients.
Invalid prescription.
Write and send an electronic prescription.
Update electronic prescription.
All prescriptions and dispensing of medications are available to all physicians, regardless of which physician prescribed the drug and where the physician is located in the healthcare system.
Medication information is updated as close to real-time as possible. The highest level of assurance is required when physicians or individuals identify themselves by logging into the database, which means that electronic identification is required.
The access of individuals
Through Heilsuvera, individuals can access their medication information in a safe electronic manner and without delay, anywhere and at any time. It contains information on prescriptions and dispensed medicines. The information is not restricted to the institution/clinical office where the data was recorded.
Parents have access to their children's medication information up to the age of 16.
